At around young age, La Tarantina escaped from her home in Avetrana. She ran away because it was not a safe place for her. After a difficult and long journey, she eventually arrived in Naples. This is a Polaroid photograph I took of Naples. Naples means so much to La Tarantina. Over the years, she has become a mother figure within the LGBTQ+ community of Naples. For La Tarantina, Naples is more than just a place. It is where she found belonging, built a life, and became part of a community that became her family.
